It’s Been A While!

I hear it’s been a hot summer for many of you! We here at the North Pole have enjoyed steady temperatures of 32 degrees or below! Perfect for being in the Christmas Spirit!

I haven’t written a post on here for some time, and for that, I apologize. Last year was an extra busy year: so many toys to make, and so many children to visit! I cannot tell you how many millions of children made it onto my NICE list last year!

Now, this year, the Elves have already begun their toy-making, and I have begun my list-making! Mrs. Claus has been busy trying new cookie recipes in the kitchen. And best of all, I have been making arrangements to come visit many of you during the holiday season: to visit your schools, your downtown parades, light up festivals and so many more fun events. I hope to have my calendar of events posted real soon, so be on the lookout!

In the meantime, keep helping out your parents, do your best work at school, and do something nice for someone today. And remember: Santa Loves YOU!

Christmas 2021, Here We Come!

Welcome to our home!

Christmas 2020 was different. It was a time of staying home and staying healthy. Mrs. Claus and I were very concerned for the health and safety of children all around the world, but we were also sad to think we wouldn’t get to visit with everyone. That’s when we decided to invite everyone to our home at the North Pole…virtually!

What wonderful times we had! We were able to sit and chat with children and their families, see all the family pets, and hear so many wonderful Christmas wishes!

Now we look ahead to Christmas 2021. Things are improving; restrictions are lifting in many parts of the world, and it looks like most everything could be back to normal in time for the holidays! Santa and Mrs. Claus are fully vaccinated and looking forward to getting out and about to visit with everyone.

Just the other day, Mrs. Claus and I were talking. We were a little sad that we wouldn’t be having anyone visit us at the North Pole this year. But then I said “Why not? We can come out and visit with the children just like in years past, but why not also continue the virtual visits to our home and my workshop?”

So that is what we will do! This Christmas, you will indeed see Santa around your town – opening the Christmas season, in parades, sitting for pictures, at parties and celebrations. But you will also have the opportunity to visit with Santa virtually at special times throughout the Christmas season!!

In the coming weeks, I will write more about virtual visits and how you can be a part of them! So be on the lookout for upcoming posts!

Christmas 2021 may very well be the best one ever!!

From time to time, while Santa is out taking a break from his duties at the North Pole, he notices children who are being especially good! When this happens, Santa will give them this card:

Did You Know??

Did you know that the tradition of gift-giving at Christmas time came from Holland?

In Holland, they celebrate St. Nicholas’ (my predecessor) Feast Day on December 6. Children leave their shoes out overnight and the next morning they wake up to find that St. Nicholas had left them gifts in their shoes.

According to legend, hanging stockings came from the tale of a poor man who had three daughters. The man was so worried that he could not afford to make sure they had good marriages. St. Nicholas heard about the man’s plight and that evening he dropped a bag of gold down their chimney. It fell into a stocking that was hung to dry by the fire, and the rest was history!

HO, HO HELLO!

I’m glad you stopped by to visit! We are going to have such fun here on Santa Ralph’s page!

Next to being at the North Pole making toys for all the good little girls and boys, my 2nd favorite thing is to visit with all my friends in Kentucky!
